Shopping Etiquette: Department Store • Avoid road rage in parking lots. Be courteous to other drivers just as you would like them to be to you. Think the Golden Rule. Better safe than sorry. • If you’ll be shopping with kids, make sure to bring snacks with you. A nap before you leave won’t hurt either. • Be mindful of those around you, and always zip your purse and keep your shopping bags close by. • Be courteous to store employees at all times, even if you may have a short fuse. • Be patient when waiting for assistance or in the check-out line. • Stay off the cell phone while checking out. • Don’t push or crowd at sale tables or at checkout. • A distracted shopper is a target for pickpockets and package thieves. Buyer beware! • Anticipate checkout. Don’t wait until your total has been rung up to pull out your wallet. A courteous shopper will have their money out ahead of time which will save time for the next person in line.
